About Horizon Empowers: Horizon Empowers is a non-profit organization that was formed in 2004 and that has been dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children and at-risk youth worldwide. Their journey is fueled by an unwavering commitment to positive change, a passion for lasting impact and a collective belief in the potential of action.
Horizon’s mission boils down to three words: rescue, restore and empower. Their focus on building connections across safety, education, health and prosperity is so that they can rescue children in need, restore their identities and hope and empower them toward leading healthy, self-sufficient lives. To me, this brand voice (including the below keywords) translates into visuals that are minimalist, airy, approachable and uplifting.

Below, I've first included designs produced by Kallos Studio in order to give a clear idea of how my projects fall in line with the branding they had put together for Horizon. Afterwards, you’ll see the designs I contributed: an event agenda; a set of icons that represent Horizon’s mission to rescue, restore and empower; and four options for a logo of The Swell, an initiative featuring a buffalo and an oxpecker. Throughout these projects, I maintained brand consistency, keeping design elements chic and beautiful with an editorial feel but with little pops of color and cool elements to modernize them.
